At 28 miles long and 7 miles wide, St. Croix has more square miles than her sister islands and offers uncrowded spaces. Our terrain is uniquely diverse. Western mountains offer a lush forest, the eastern end is desert-like and the interior has grassy, undulating hills. |

You will see numerous historic structures, the most prominent being the sugar-mill ruins. You will want to visit historical sites such as the Whim Plantation Museum or the Lawaetz Museum to learn more about the 18th and 19th centuries when sugar was king. St. George Village Botanical Garden is a must-see set on 16 acres among the ruins of an 18th century sugar plantation. | |
| St. Croix offers Eco-Tourism in the form of kayaking or hiking, along with other land sports such as horseback riding and bicycle tours. Tennis is available in many locations around the island but the major land sport remains golf and St. Croix boasts two 18-hole golf courses. Another activity that might be considered a land sport is casino gambling and St. Croix is the first U.S. Virgin Island to offer the excitement of casino gambling. Located on the southeastern shore of the island, the casino features 10,000 square feet of gaming space. |

Our island will give you the
opportunity to try a selection of water sports. Charter boats offer
deep-sea fishing. Several captains will take you sailing. Windsurfing
offers a challenge. Wave runners and kayaks can be rented. But the
best water sports are snorkeling and diving. The crystal clear waters
around St. Croix are ideal for both.
Located one mile from St. Croix's north-eastern shore is Buck Island, a must-see for every visitor. Buck Island one of two underwater National Monuments and numerous tour operators on St. Croix sail to the island for half or full day trips that include snorkeling gear and a guide through the underwater trail. |
